Free CRA pages for the 2027 self-employed calendar

17 October 2026 · en-CA · Educational information · No affiliate links

Not tax advice. Check Canada.ca and the CRA. This site is not the CRA and is not affiliated with it. Dates marked expected were read or calculated on 17 October 2026. Re-check on 1 January 2027 and in February 2027. The filing date of 15 June 2027 does not push the payment date of 30 April 2027.

Short answer: Start with the free CRA pages below. They are the sources for this calendar. This site has no affiliate links, no product to sell, and no commission. A bookkeeping program is not recommended here, and no product name is listed.

CRA pages to open first

Read these before you rely on a row in the calendar. Each one was opened on 17 October 2026. A re-check is planned for 1 January 2027 and for February 2027. If a page and this site disagree, the page on Canada.ca wins.

  1. 2027 tax deadlines for Canadian businesses and self-employed individuals. Filing on 15 June 2027 for self-employed individuals, payment of balances on 30 April 2027, income-tax instalments on the four 15ths, the tax-shelter filing exception, T4 information returns by the last day of February, and the GST/HST annual split for a self-employed individual with a 31 December year-end.
  2. CRA tax tip: file the 2026 return by 30 April 2027. This is the line for individuals who are not self-employed. This calendar does not summarize the rest of the tip.
  3. Important dates for individuals. When this site was written, that page still showed 2026. Use the 2027 business deadlines page for the self-employed dates.
  4. GST/HST reporting requirements and deadlines. One month after a monthly or quarterly period. Annual rules, including 30 April and 15 June for a qualifying individual, and 31 March for a 31 December corporation. No penalty amount is copied here.
  5. When to file a GST/HST return, and RC4022. Assigned periods: $1.5 million or less annual, up to $6 million quarterly, above that monthly. Those bands are not fines.
  6. When to pay GST/HST instalments. Within one month after each fiscal quarter. The 31 December example is 30 April, 31 July, 31 October and 31 January, before the weekend and holiday shift. Not the income-tax dates on the 15th.
  7. Public holidays. The page read on 17 October 2026 lists 2026. A Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday moves to the next business day, and the province can matter. 2027 shifts on this site are expected calculations.
  8. File payroll information returns and Remit payroll deductions. The expected T4 date is 1 March 2027. Remitter types and due dates are in the payroll remittance guide.
  9. CRA resources for small and medium businesses. The directory linked from the deadlines page. Federal services only.

One office this list does not replace

Quebec provincial dates are not on the CRA pages above as a complete provincial calendar. Use Revenu Québec. The Quebec page on this site describes the Revenu Québec dates as expected for 2027 and points back to Revenu Québec.

How to use the pages with the calendar

The calendar sorts the answers you type and can download an .ics file in the browser. It does not send those answers anywhere. Afterward, open the matching CRA page. Check that 15 June 2027 did not move a 30 April payment in your notes. Check that 1 February 2027 is Q4 GST/HST and not the T4 slips. Check that 31 March 2027 is not on a quarterly row.

31 January and 28 February 2027 are Sundays, so the next business days are 1 February and 1 March. The August and September shifts depend on holiday names from a 2026 CRA list and should be confirmed for your province.

What this site does not link to

There is no bookkeeping product and no affiliate link. The disclosure page says the same thing. If a link that should be disclosed is added later, that page is where the description goes before the link is used. None are in use.

There is no interest table. The CRA can charge interest, and the amounts were not verified, so they are not published. The only penalty percentages on this site are the late payroll remittance ones, in the payroll remittance guide.

Questions readers ask

Which single page should I bookmark? The 2027 business deadlines page, then the GST/HST reporting page if you are a registrant. The calendar is a checklist beside those pages, not a substitute.

Is the important-dates page enough for 2027? Not based on the copy we read on 17 October 2026. It was still on 2026. Use the business deadlines page for the self-employed 2027 dates.

Can I skip Canada.ca if the .ics file looks complete? No. The file is informational. Verify on Canada.ca.
